Assessment of Variability and Genetic Diversity for Elite Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Genotypes of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

The current investigation was undertaken with eighteen elite rice genotypes to study the genetic diversity, variability, heritability and advance for yield attributing traits. ANOVA revealed significant variability among traits studied. 1000 seed weight is having highest phenotypic coeffcient variation genotypic (24.882 & 24.835) followed by grain per plant (20.315 19.523 respectively). Heritability estimates of ranged from 58.3% (Panicle length) 99.6% (1000 weight). High along higher observed weight, numbers productive tillers, height indicating that selection these would be effective. diversity analysis were grouped into four clusters, cluster I largest comprising 14 II two Cluster III IV one variety each a high degree divergence genotypes.
